Accounting Clerk

We are looking for a skilled accounts payable/accounts receivable clerk to join our team. The successful candidate is someone who has a love for numbers and is eager to enhance their accounting skills while joining a growing and high performing accounting team. Attention to detail, timeliness, and accuracy are critical. It is a fast-paced position that requires proficient task-switching.

This is a key accounting position requiring accountability, good judgment, and strong communication skills. The position reports directly to the Director of Accounting. You will be responsible for tasks such as verifying, processing, coding, and reconciling invoices. In addition, you will work directly with vendors and internal departments to resolve purchase orders, invoices, and payment discrepancies.

Job Description and Core Responsibilities

• Process invoices for multiple vendors, including freight carriers (code & route for approvals)

• Resolve pricing and quantity discrepancies in a timely manner by working with purchasing and receiving team members and ensure that outstanding issues are documented and resolved by month-end.

• Review and process payments to assigned vendors and creditors ensuring that all invoices received by the monthly cut-off date are processed within that month.

• Corresponds directly with vendors to resolve outstanding statement balances in a timely manner.

• Process credit card purchases.

• Responsible for ensuring that customer accounts are kept current.

• Responsible for applying incoming payments daily and researching any unapplied monies.

• Interacts regularly with customers.

• Other tasks as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and written to deal professionally with vendors, customers, and other team members throughout the company.

• Knowledge of Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus.

• Knowledge of Bill.com is a plus.

• Knowledge of Excel and Outlook.

• Strong interpersonal, organizational and follow-through skills

• Strong problem solving, decision making, and analytical abilities

• Strong teamwork skills with ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships

• Able to multi-task and handle a large volume of paperwork

• Punctual, with strong work ethic and positive attitude

• Minimum 3-4 years Accounts Payable and Receivables experience.
