Job Summary:
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to help us grow our partnerships and support our mission of empowering small businesses. This role involves developing leads, closing deals, and managing sponsorships with Fortune 1000 companies. If you are proactive, entrepreneurial, and passionate about the small business ecosystem, this might be the perfect fit for you. This role reports to the VP of Business Development.
About Us:
We currently support over 100 partners including FedEx, Comcast, Amazon, Verizon, Mastercard, PepsiCo, DoorDash, eBay, and JPMorgan Chase. Our offerings include grants administration, accelerator programming, targeted email marketing, and events.
What You'll Do:
Sales Process Ownership: Manage the sales process from outreach to closing, providing market intelligence and accurate forecasts.
Proposal Crafting: Develop compelling proposals that align with our goals and drive revenue.
Strategic Positioning: Use effective selling strategies to position us as a key partner for small business support.
Lead Identification: Identify and engage with decision-makers at potential partner companies.
Pipeline Management: Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective partners committed to supporting minority and small business communities.
Collaboration: Work with internal marketing and customer success teams throughout the sales cycle.
Market Trend Analysis: Identify and communicate market trends to enhance our value proposition and offerings.
Required Skills and Experience:
Proven success with consultative selling to enterprise companies.
Strong understanding of sales strategies and closing techniques.
Results-oriented with a goal-focused approach.
Experience in selling grants administration, content, and event sponsorship programs.
Ability to identify key stakeholders and develop strong relationships.
Track record of managing complex sales cycles with successful outcomes.
Proficiency in maintaining accurate pipeline and forecast data.
Entrepreneurial spirit, high motivation, and ambition.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with various CRM platforms.

Compensation varies by location within the U.S. with a range of $95,000-105,000 annually plus eligible commission.
