Work Scheduling:

• Part-time, 24 hours per week, 8:00 a.m.– 4:30 p.m.
• Must be flexible to cover patient/staff needs of Compass.
• Must rotate through Administrator on call schedule.

Summary of Responsibilities: At Compass Regional Hospice, the Clinical Educator/Delegating Nurse provides professional development and education services to clinical staff, ensuring compliance with regulations and meeting patient needs. Responsibilities and Functions:

• Develops, implements, and evaluates orientation and preceptorships.
• Facilitates new employee orientation of all clinical and administrative staff.
• Collaborates with Clinical Managers, and the Quality Committee to prioritize educational needs.
• Identifies changes that should be made in clinical practices.
• Serves as a resource by assisting clinicians and selecting educational options.
• Provides ongoing evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of the educational activities.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse with current license in the State of Maryland
• Possession of a delegation nurse certificate in area congruent with Hospice care preferred.
• Certification in hospice and palliative care preferred.
• 2+ years of varied work experience as a professional nurse, hospice experience preferred.
• 1+ years in a supervisory or management position preferred.
