Delivery Driver

Pay: $17/hr

Reports To: Warehouse/Delivery Manager

Classification: Non-exempt

Job Description

Summary

This position is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to customers. This position will be responsible for making deliveries to clients on the North Shore, South Shore and Northern Louisiana

Essential Functions

1. Utilize all safety procedures designed by the company to ensure the safe delivery of goods, from loading vehicles through returning to the warehouse
2. Deliver goods in a timely manner according to assigned schedule
3. Communicate with warehouse team when service is disrupted to ensure problems or issues are resolved quickly and efficiently
4. Assist in the maintenance of company vehicles including routine cleaning and maintaining fuel, fluids, and accessories
5. Keep accurate and organized trip logs
6. Assist in maintaining the warehouse to ensure neatness and cleanliness

High school diploma and 1 years of related experience

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Must have valid driver’s license

Must be qualified to drive a full size delivery van, box truck, forklift, and operate an electric pallet jack

Employment is contingent on the applicant’s ability to pass a pre- employment drug screen and MVR.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None.

Work Environment

This position will spend some time in a warehouse environment and some time in a delivery vehicle with exposure to outdoor elements.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Pre employment drug screening and motor vehicle record search is required.
