A MORI Associates partner company is looking for a talented, Human Space Flight Integration Engineer to join our team supporting NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.
Job Overview: Combine Human Spaceflight technical knowledge/understanding with soft skills to perform Human Spaceflight Technical Integration tasks. Current job includes performing Private Astronaut Mission (PAM) integration tasks and Commercial Destinations Program Office (CDPO) integration tasks. Will work as part of NASA Johnson Space Center Human Spaceflight Technical Integration Contract (HSFTIC). Work is performed primarily at NASA JSC.
To qualify for this challenging and exciting opportunity, candidates should possess the following:
- BS/MS in Engineering
- 9+ years of engineering experience
- An understanding of human spaceflight, how Johnson Space Center and Human Spaceflight Program Offices operate, and have a wide breadth of technical knowledge.
The responsibilities of this job opportunity include the following:
- For both PAM and CDPO, keep teams on task for things like document reviews. Be able to look ahead at future milestones, think logically through schedules for when tasks need to be done, work through setting up meetings and/or distribute task assignments as needed, and ensure that tasks are being performed and personnel are reminding personnel when tasks products are required.
- For both PAM and CDPO, review and maintain requirements documents. For PAM, be the requirements book owner and be responsible for updates from stakeholders, review your own and stakeholder’s updates, and work through the Configuration Management process to have requirements document and approved by the appropriate board. For CDPO, receive from the book owner requests for updates and ensure that the team reviews the documents, submits updates, and that the requested updates from the CDPO team are consistent (no contradictory suggestions).
- For both PAM and CDPO, create PowerPoint presentations and present them at various level meetings. Also for CDPO, coordinate updates to team presentation for quarterly and other upper management meetings.
- For both PAM and CDPO, Use Jira and EazyBI to track items (requirements verifications, help tickets, etc.) and create/maintain dashboards to allow management and other team members the ability to visualize the status of the project.
- For both PAM and CDPO, work with diverse teams across NASA and Commercial space companies to accomplish project tasks. Teams include ISS Program, Commercial Low Earth Orbit Development Program (CLDP), Human Health and Performance (HH&P), Safety and Mission Assurance, Engineering, External Relations, and NASA Headquarters.
- For PAM, Create and maintain integrated PAM schedules to track toward the successful completion of all PAM milestones. These schedules use a mix of MS Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- For CDPO, schedule and run Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs). This includes booking space at local venues (JSC’s Gilruth Center, Space Center Houston, etc.),working with teams to ensure appropriate steps are performed to clear data for public release and that the data gets published to the appropriate sites, collecting RSVP information, and acting as the Master of Ceremonies for the meeting.
In general, applicant must be able to understand various technical details/work and communicate with others. Applicant must also strive for continuous process improvements. Note that, depending on priorities, these tasks can change.
The likely salary range for this job is $90-100K
