Job Description

The Highlights:

Reporting to the Manager of Part-Time Readers, the Part-Time Reader works from home and reviews admission applications. The position has more of a seasonal nature as the majority of the work is concentrated between October - March, with training in August/September and occasional small projects in the spring/summer months (if work is available). The hours associated with this position are variable depending on the application load and there is no guarantee of a certain number of hours per week.

What You'll Do:
  • The part-time Reader will receive training on how to review an admission application and he/she will be assigned applications to review and a deadline by which to review them.
  • The part-time Reader will receive training on how to complete small side projects related to the application review (as work is available).

What You'll Need:

  • Baccalaureate degree required.
  • 2-4 years of college admission/college counseling experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of admission practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of student database management systems. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • Ability to participate in a fast paced, creative, change oriented and success driven environment.
  • Position may require evening and weekend work in order to meet application deadline, and requires reliable internet access from home.
