Position Summary As the Development Office Prospect Management and Research Coordinator , you will serve as a critical member of our team, supporting the effectiveness and productivity of our front-line fundraising staff. The Prospect Management and Research Coordinator is primarily responsible for prospect identification, research, and management; reporting and information retrieval; and the development of in-depth research analysis, prospect bios, and briefing notes. This position reports directly to the Director of Principal Gifts and Campaigns and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our organization's philanthropic efforts as we prepare to embark on the School’s most significant comprehensive campaign to date.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategies for prospect research, proactive identification efforts, and prospect management.
  • Manage and deliver high-quality, in-depth, specific research and analysis in support of prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship, feasibility studies, and aligning prospects with fundraising priorities.
  • Develop, implement, and manage systems and procedures to meet the information needs of front-line fundraisers (including the Head of School) in preparation for contacting, cultivating, and soliciting major and principal gift prospects.
  • Implement systems to meet information needs and protocols for activity tracking and reporting.
  • Design and generate pipeline, portfolio, and prospect management reports to track progress through the donor cycle.
  • Lead portfolio review and move management meetings with front-line fundraisers.
  • Devise strategies for identifying and obtaining new prospects in order to ensure the ongoing development, expansion, and renewal of the prospect base, to which the School will turn for current and future support.
  • Conduct in-depth research on individuals and foundations using a wide variety of original source material, including public documents, legal records, periodicals, databases, professional organizations, and the internet; provide research analysis to assist in rating and identifying capacity, philanthropic interests, and connections/affiliation with the School.
  • Prepare detailed and up-to-date research dossiers and briefings on prospects for development and senior staff in advance of cultivation calls and events in order to obtain optimal outcomes. 
  • Produce reports that can be routinely disseminated to development staff, senior school administrators, and volunteers.
  • Work collaboratively with program directors to monitor progress toward annual and capital fundraising goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a related field such as research, marketing, or non-profit. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a research role, preferably within a development, fundraising, or educational environment.
  • Proficient in donor database systems, such as Veracross, Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, or similar platforms and research tools.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Skilled in navigating the Google Suite of applications (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
