Location: Upper East Side

Work Days: Weekdays and some weekends
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $34.23 - $40.66
*As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices
Position Summary Under the supervision of a licensed and registered Polysomnographic Technologist, is responsible for producing and analyzing high quality sleep recordings and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for the patients.
Job Responsibilities - Prepares and calibrates equipment required for testing to determine proper functioning and makes adjustments as necessary.
- Records sleep/wake physiology. Performs diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnography in accordance with physician's orders and departmental policies/procedures. Ensures quality/clarity of recording along with detailed documentation.
- Summarizes sleep study results within a technical report to be presented at clinical case conferences.
- Responsible for maintaining a sterile environment. Ensures standard infection control precautions are observed.
- Assists in the training of new technicians by demonstrating laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Assists in maintaining a clinical database which includes sleep data files, oximetry data and other pertinent records.
Education Experience Must be enrolled in a New York State License approved A.A.S. program in Polysomnographic Technology.
Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology regarding cardiopulmonary and neurophysiological systems.
Basic knowledge of sleep physiology and diagnostic sleep record techniques.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Demonstrated knowledge and aptitude regarding computers and electronic equipment.
Licenses and Certifications - BLS Certification (issued by the American Heart Association)
- Enrolled in a NYS License approved A.A.S. program in Polysomnographic Technology.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands Work assignment requires the ability to work night hours.
