Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma, prefer associates
Experience: Certification by CBSPD as a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician or IAHCSMM as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician
Additional requirements: BLS required upon 6 months of employment
Job Description:
Collecting of used and contaminated equipment or instruments/ supplies.
Sorting of the collected equipment and supplies and initiating decontamination.
Cleaning the supplies manually.
Maintaining the cleaned components by packing them for sterilization.
Maintaining the inventory.
Monitoring the conditions and examining the instruments.
Organizing, wrapping, and preparing the instruments for reuse for medical procedures.
Controlling the inventory records, reordering instruments whenever necessary, and checking expiration dates.
